  • Bear Hug supports wellbeing, but it is not a medical service and not for emergencies.
  • Your mood check-ins and journals are stored locally on your device by default.
  • Cloud backup and sync are optional and available via an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly).
  • Subscriptions are managed and billed by Apple App Store or Google Play.
  • We use Firebase and Google Analytics only to operate and improve the App.
  • We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.

If you enable cloud backup/sync, you may sign in using Apple or Google. We receive technical identifiers required for authentication and subscription validation.

How We Use Information

Storage & Sync

Local-first storage

Your data is stored locally unless you enable cloud backup. If you uninstall the App without an active subscription, your local data may be permanently deleted.

Cloud backup & sync (subscription)

Cloud backup and sync are available only with an active subscription. Data is stored using Firebase infrastructure and associated with your Apple or Google account.

Subscriptions

Bear Hug offers optional monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscriptions for cloud backup and sync.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal data.

Children

Bear Hug is for users aged 13+. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, but no system is completely secure.
